Abgemahnt
Nils Holger Moormann
Typical Moormann
Abgemahnt casually combines Moormann’s favourite materials and philosophy: Untreated wooden base assertively meets finely milled plywood board, and so manual work meets the CNC milling machine. The steel bracket comes from the village blacksmith next door. Not only highly possible, but even intentional that no two pieces are exactly identical.

Incidentally and also to go
The best thing about Abgemahnt is not only its regional wood, but also the material contrasts and different processing techniques that are united in this small piece of furniture. Untreated wooden base assertively meets finely milled plywood board, and so manual work meets the CNC milling machine. The steel bracket comes from the village blacksmith next door. As the good is so close, 90% of our furniture is produced within a radius of 40 kilometres around our headquarters in Chiemgau. As resource-saving as possible thanks to short routes and waste optimization. We prefer natural materials, not only because we find them beautiful and they do not pollute the environment. We also appreciate the benefit of longevity as the materials become more beautiful over time. In this sense, Abgemahnt is a true example of our collection.
Standby becomes Abgemahnt
An old story, but still eponymous. The label on the foot of this table betrays the fact that it was once called Standby. The name was however dismissed, which translated into German means 'Abgemahnt'. And the side table finally had a unique name.

Material properties:
Several birch veneers are cross-glued, creating a material with a high level of dimensional stability. Generally our birch plywood panels are surface-coated or oiled. They are produced in Finland. The slowly-growing trees in the Finnish climate create fine-grain wood of consistently high quality. The following properties can occur: knot inclusions on the edge and possibly different edge colors (image 1), inclusions, glossy stripes or matt areas on the surface (image 2).
Cleaning and care:
Light surface soiling on the untreated edges can be removed using fine-grain sandpaper. Coated surfaces can be cleaned using a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a small amount of colourless washing-up liquid. Please only wipe oiled surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and as necessary treat with colourless oil.
