FNP Connecting Board

FNP Connecting Board

Later extension

For the subsequent extension of an FNP shelf in width. The FNP connecting board makes it possible to connect two independent shelves to one shelf unit. It is not necessary to dismantle the shelves. A connecting board consists of a shelf board with integrated rails, which are extended at both ends by thin metal hooks. The connecting board is placed at an invisible point between the rails and the side panels by raising the adjacent boards. The construction is secured point by point with the original rivets. The extended rail appears continuous to the eye.

Material Properties and Care
FNP Connecting Board Material properties and care

FU Black (birch plywood)

Material properties:

Several birch veneers are cross-glued, creating a material with a high level of dimensional stability. Generally our birch plywood panels are surface-coated or oiled. They are produced in Finland. The slowly-growing trees in the Finnish climate create fine-grain wood of consistently high quality. The following properties can occur: knot inclusions on the edge and possibly different edge colors (image 1), inclusions, glossy stripes or matt grey areas on the surface (image 2).

Cleaning and care:

Light surface soiling on the untreated edges can be removed using fine-grain sandpaper. Coated surfaces can be cleaned using a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a small amount of colourless washing-up liquid. Please only wipe oiled surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and as necessary treat with colourless oil.

FNP Connecting Board Material properties and care

MDF Pure

Material properties:

To produce MDF materials, extremely fine, mainly bark-free wood is pressed homogenously in longitudinal and transverse direction to produce a dense wood material. Our MDF materials are produced in Germany and Austria. Characteristics of industrial production as well as slight color variations in different production batches are therefore visible. Due to signs of usage on the uncoated raw material, the furniture develops an individual character over its lifespan.

Cleaning and care:

MDF is a semi-finished material designed for coating. We use MDF for its characteristic aesthetic as an uncoated raw material. Contact or cleaning with liquids should therefore be avoided.
Light surface dirt on the untreated edges or surfaces can be removed using fine-grain sandpaper.
